So, I happened to be in the Komets' owner's box a couple minutes ago, and I saw something interesting: The ribbon board on the opposite side of the arena was gone.
Well, not really.
It seems the folks at Memorial Coliseum have hung this banner that is to be lowered for basketball games. You know, those games that not very many people attend, by comparison to hockey. Even when the curtain is wrapped up, it obstructs the view from the press box.
That may not seem like much of a problem to you, except the owners need to monitor the goings on on the boards and in the stands, to make sure things are running smoothly.
- Jesse Bennefield will be in the lineup for the Komets tonight, in the final exhibition game against the Dayton Gems. He has an infection in his ankle, general manager David Franke said, and is being treated with antibiotics for it.
- Franke said there will be no cuts made until Monday. He also said there are no additions in store, except for the arrival of Artem Podshendyalov in a few days, after he had problems with his immigration work papers.
