At least 11 area high school marching bands advanced to semistate competition next weekend after performing in regional competition Saturday.
Regional bands performed at two sites: Chesterton High School and Jefferson High School in Lafayette. Elsewhere in the state, bands also performed at Center Grove High School in Greenwood and Central High School in Evansville.
To advance to semistate, bands had to earn a gold rating and finish in the top 10 of their respective classes.
At Chesterton
According to IndianaMarching.com, In Class C, Leo, Concordia and Norwell earned gold ratings and advanced to semistate.
Garrett and Heritage earned gold ratings but didnt advance.
In Class A, Homestead, Snider, Northrop and Carroll earned gold ratings and advanced to semistate.
Warsaw and Huntington North earned silver ratings.
At Lafayette
According to IndianaMarching.com, In Class D, Woodlan, Adams Central, Eastside and Bluffton earned gold ratings and advanced to semistate.
Results from Class B were not available at press time.
