Shooter's Comments:

As I was headed into the newsroom I got a call from fellow photographer Laura Gardner that there was a hostage situation. It was getting close to the end of her shift and we had no idea how long it would last, so I headed over to relieve her.

Authorities had a four-block radius blocked off around the house but luckily Laura gave me a heads-up and told me to bring the 300mm lens. There wasn't much action, so that is the photo that we got. It was over 15 minutes after I arrived and ended peacefully.
