Hoisted fourteen stories high on a lift, Cole Burklund with Atlas Building Service, Inc., works on the base of First Presbyterian Church steeple in downtown Fort Wayne. For the last two months the church is getting restoration work done on the building. The crew has about three more weeks of work to complete the project. Burklund, luckily, is not afraid of heights and says he is use to working in such conditions.

Shooter's Comments:

Instead of shooting from the ground up at this steeple that was getting restoration work done, I thought I would ask if I could go in the lift and get a different perspective. So, this morning I drove over to the First Presbyterian Church and asked the crew if I could go up with one of them working on the steeple.

Actually, I was a little surprised that I was able to go up. I put on a harness and went up about 14 stories to get this guy working on the base of the steeple. I had to shoot a little higher then the level of the guy to show the landscape of Fort Wayne in the background.

At one point, the lift was a little stuck and we were unable to go down. This scared me a little. Believe it or not, I am a little afraid of heights but this is what I do to overcome that. Plus when I have my camera in a hand I feel like a super hero and I forget all my worries. Hahahaha!
