A win for Norv

You've gotta love New York Jets coach Rex Ryan. He's not afraid to say what he thinks, and he apparently doesn't mind the occasional taste of shoe leather that comes with it.

So here he was the other day, apologizing for popping off about how he'd have had a couple of rings if he were coaching the Chargers, the Jets' upcoming opponent. It was at once an implied swipe at Chargers' coach Norv Turner, and also his own team, because ... well, if they were as good as the Chargers, wouldn't Rex already have a couple rings?

The best part of all this, though, was the usually laconic Turner's winning response.

"After I saw the quote, I didn't have a chance to ask him this, but I was wondering if he had those rings with the ones he's guaranteed the last couple of years," Turner said.

Pay the man.
