Names like David Johnson, Corey Lopez and Jose Rodriguez have put Warsaw boys soccer on the map.
Before these seniors, Warsaw had been to two semistates in school history. With the guidance of these trio of players, the Tigers have gone to the last four semistates and won the 2010 crown en route to a state finals appearance.
"They were contributing as freshmen," Warsaw coach Scott Bauer said of the eight seniors who will leave the program. "For four years, they have carried this program."
On Saturday, the Tigers fell 1-0 to Crown Point on penalty kicks in the Class 2A semistate championship.
The Bulldogs won in the shootout 5-4.
"Our expectations were pretty high for this year, and we fell one match short of being where I thought we would be," Bauer said.
