Too long a look

So Gunner Kiel, the erstwhile Big Get for Indiana football coach Kevin Wilson, was at the USC-Notre Dame last night, checking out greener pastures.

(Which presumably was Notre Dame, but, you know, USC probably looked pretty good to the kid, too. So maybe the Trojans are in the mix now).

Anyway ... this seems to be a simple case of a young man deciding to play for the school in his backyard, then noticing that there was a lot of crabgrass, bare spots and gutted junkers up on blocks in that backyard. With the Hoosiers at 1-7 and 0-4 in the Big Ten and continuing to go the way of almost all Indiana football teams lately, you have to wonder if Kiel didn't wake up one morning and think, "Whoa. I committed to this?"

So the Big Get has done gotten up and gone. Be interesting to see how the dominoes fall in this one -- i.e., which QBs already committed at smaller schools might reconsider with a scholarship now open at a Big Ten school.
