Fans might have seen the changing of the guard in Class 3A volleyball on Tuesday at Bellmont.
The 2010 state champion, Bellmont, dropped a 3-0 decision to Yorktown, which could very well go onto win it all.
The No. 1 Tigers (34-2) will now play Concordia (30-6) in a semistate semifinal Saturday at Plymouth. It will be an incredible challenge for the No. 7 Cadets, who lost to Yorktown 2-1 earlier this year.
There were some in attendance that said the Tigers are the best of the best in Delaware County, the mecca of high school volleyball in the state.
That includes Wapahani, which is also going to semistate, and knocked off 14-time defending 2A state champ Muncie Burris in the sectional.
Yorktown is the 2000 3A state champ and 2009 3A runner-up.
