  • CHL's Arizona Sundogs suspend operations
As the Denver Cutthroats did Wednesday, the CHL's Arizona Sundogs have also suspended operations and will not play this season with the hope, allegedly, being that they return in 2015-16. All their players are free agents.
  • Some CHL news
The CHL's Denver Cutthroats have gone dormant for the upcoming season and are looking to secure investors for the 2015-16 season.
  • K's add scoring, toughness
The Komets were in need of a defenseman who can score and hit and they got one today – and he should be familiar to fans of the team – with the signing of Matt Krug.

Players happy with moves

I spoke with several Komets players over the last couple days and they are pleased with the moves to bring Brent Henley and Jamie Lovell in, though I don't anticipate either being in the lineup Saturday.

The players I spoke to -- who shall remain nameless -- warned that no one should think either Henley or Lovell will be "saviors," but that they solidify what is clearly the weakest part of the team -- the blue line.

The one concern I heard voiced several times: The bad penalties that Henley has sometimes been prone to giving up.

This clearly sets up some battles to stay on the roster, though. I don't think it's any secret that David Starenky and Tristin Llewellyn can't afford to play poorly right now.
