First couple to be Addams Family for Halloween

Gov. Mitch Daniels and First Lady Cheri Daniels will dress as characters from the Addams Family as they host trick-or-treaters at the governor's residence for the seventh consecutive year.

"Welcoming young Hoosiers to the Governor's Residence on Halloween has become one of my favorite traditions," First Lady Cheri Daniels said. "We especially appreciate the generosity of the Indiana companies that made donations for our treat bags and costumes."

The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Halloween night.

The couple will pass out assorted candy provided by four Indiana businesses. Donations include chocolate bars and pecan caramels from DeBrand Fine Chocolates of Fort Wayne; chocolate bars from Good's Candy Shop of Anderson; chocolate-dipped pretzel twists from Schimpff's Confectionery of Jeffersonville; and candy corn and fruit jells from Zachary Confections of Frankfort.

The first 200 trick-or-treaters also will receive jump ropes from Project 18 and Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent.

Previous costume themes have been The Wizard of Oz, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Indianapolis 500, the 1950's, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.
