With a little more than a week before Election Day, Fort Wayne’s mayoral candidates will face each other in two debates in the coming days.
The Concerned Citizens of Fort Wayne are sponsoring a debate at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Public Safety Academy of Northeast Indiana, 7602 Patriot Crossing. The group is led by the Rev. Mike Latham. It is not being broadcast on television or radio.
The Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics at IPFW and WANE-TV are sponsoring a debate at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Auer Auditorium at the Rhinehart Music Center. The event will be moderated by Heather Herron and Mark Mellinger and will allow the candidates to ask each other questions. No tickets are required, but the doors will be closed at 6:45 p.m.
Democratic Mayor Tom Henry, Republican Paula Hughes and independent Haley Ahrendt will participate in both events.
Reporter Benjamin Lanka will be tweeting during both events. You can follow him on Twitter @BenLanka.
