Notre Dame up big

Notre Dame is a quarter away from putting a bad week behind it.

The Irish lead Navy 42-7 entering the fourth as they try to bounce back from a terrible loss to USC last weekend and comments from coach Brian Kelly that hurt some upperclassmen's feelings during the week.

Notre Dame had to punt on its first drive of the second half, but the Irish added to their lead by making a lateral throw work.

Michael Floyd caught a lateral from Tommy Rees, who missed earlier in the game on a similar toss to Theo Riddick, and scored on a 10-yard run to give the Irish a 42-7 lead with 2:59 to play in the third quarter.

Notre Dame closed the third quarter with the ball on Navy's 13-yard line, looking to add one more touchdown to its lead.
