It's 1-0 after one

Hey, it's Ben Smith, Justin Cohn's stunt double, and we've got a 1-0 lead for the Komets after one period against Quad City.

Bobby Chaumont got the goal for the Komets, ripping a beauty top-shelf over Quad City goalie David McKee's glove hand at 5:30 of the period. It likely won't be the last; so far McKee's leaving lots of juicy rebounds in front for the picking.

Quad City skated a man up three times in the period but came away with just 10 shots on goal and nothing to show for it on the scoreboard. Komets' penalty kill looked good, and Nick Boucher has been sharp between the pipes.
