Irish sign front line for future

Notre Dame put together a front court for the future on the first day of the early signing period.

The Irish received national letters of intent from forwards Austin Burgett, Cameron Biedscheid and Zach Auguste on Wednesday.

"I am very pleased with how this class came together," coach Mike Brey said in a news release. "I like the size because all three of the players are big and long."

Biedscheid averaged 29.7 points and 7.9 rebounds in his junior season at St. Louis' Cardinal Ritter.

The 6-foot-7, 180-pound small forward is the No. 30 overall prospect and a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com. He averaged nearly 30 points during his junior season.

Auguste is also rated a four-star prospect and is the No. 93 prospect overall according to Rivals.com. The 6-9, 220-pound power forward averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds in his junior season at New Hampton (N.H.).

After signing, Auguste tweeted, "just signed with notre dame its official what a great day to be an IRISH #BIGEASTBOUND."

Burgett, from Avon, averaged 14.9 points and 5 rebounds as a junior. The 6-9, 220-pound power forward is a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com.

Notre Dame's recruiting class is ranked 16th by Rivals.com and 25th by 247Sports.
