Editor's Note: The day after an election tends to be busy, and Wednesday was no exception. Sam had four assignments that set a rapid pace for that morning - 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and noon.
When things are so tight, sometimes it can be hard to slow down and still get a really top-notch image. Sam managed to do that with this picture. He slowed down, literally, and made a tack-sharp image with a very slow shutter speed. He told me he kept the camera from shaking my bracing it against a metal railing.
The slow shutter speed allowed the room light to really glow and give the image a lot of depth. Great work, Sam.
