Fort Wayne resident Dave Armstrong, assistant state director of FairTax Indiana, will give a presentation on fair-tax proposals Monday at a meeting of Fort Wayne 9-12.
Armstrong said he will he give “an overview of all the tax schemes being discussed today and a full explanation of the fair tax.”
Fair-tax legislation introduced in Congress would impose a 23 percent national sales tax on goods and services; repeal income, employment and estate and gift taxes; and abolish the Internal Revenue Service.
Co-sponsors include Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., and Reps. Marlin Stutzman, R-3rd; Dan Burton, R-5th; and Mike Pence, R-6th.
Fort Wayne 9-12 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at The Classic Café, 4832 Hillegas Road. The event is free and open to the public. For information, go to www.fortwayne912.com.
