Shooter's Comments: On Saturday, I had the opportunity to interview WWII and Korean War veteran Bernie Reust, who was in the VA hospital and was unable to participate in the Veterans Day Parade. I took a 17-minute interview and edited it down to 2 minutes. I included photos from the Veterans Day Parade because I didn't have any B roll from the interview. B roll is the other images you see besides the image with the audio. With so many cuts while Reust was talking, it would have been weird to see his face shifting around as one cut went to the next cut.
My favorite shot from the parade was Delaney Hartup, 6, looking for her dad in the Veterans Day Parade. I thought it said it all and even included a couple of flags.
To see more photos from the parade and Bernie Reust's interview go to "Illness keeps vet from parade" on the Journal Gazette web site.
