Jackson, Hummel lead Purdue

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Lewis Jackson scored 26 points, Robbie Hummel added 20 and Purdue pulled away from Temple 85-77 on Friday in the second round of the 5-Hour Energy Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Jackson scored 10 points in the final three minutes, leading an 11-2 run. It was 67-all when the Boilermakers (4-0) took the lead for good on Jackson’s three-point play and a pair of foul shots by Hummel.

Jackson made 10 of 11 free throws and Hummel made all six of his tries. A day earlier, Hummel finished with 24 points, including a three in the final minute that beat Iona 91-90. Ramone Moore scored 27 points for Temple (2-1). The Owls used eight players and three of them fouled out. Two Purdue players fouled out.
