Tuitt out

Notre Dame will be without one of its freshman defensive ends for today's game against Boston College.

Stephon Tuitt will not play because of illness, a team spokesman announced before the game. Tuitt has 27 tackles in eight games.

Freshman Aaron Lynch replaced Tuitt in the starting lineup, and senior Ethan Johnson will be playing on the other side. Lynch has 21 tackles in nine games.

Slot receiver Theo Riddick, who is battling a hamstring injury, wasn't in uniform during warmups, and it's doubtful he will play.

Coach Brian Kelly didn't plan on starting Riddick, but he was hopeful the junior would be able to play after missing last weekend's win over Maryland.

Robby Toma was already slated to be the starter today after he made his first start of the season last week.
