Iowa leads early in the second quarter

Iowa leads Purdue 14-7 early in the second quarter at Ross-Ade Stadium.

James Vandenberg threw two touchdowns in the first quarter. He completed a 26-yard to Marvin McNutt for a touchdown in the game’s opening possession.

Purdue came back with a touchdown of its own. Caleb TerBush completed a 14-yard pass to Gabe Holmes for a score.

Vandenberg threw a 5-yard touchdown to C.J. Fiedorowicz in the final minute of the quarter to put the Hawkeyes back ahead.

Purdue fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Iowa recovered. Iowa kicker Mike Meyer missed a 34-yard field goal at 13:11 of the second quarter.
