Restaurants serve up Thanksgiving dinners

If you still haven’t finalized the details for your Thanksgiving feast, here are more options for last-minute Thursday dining.

The best part: No reservations are necessary.

•Sara’s Family Restaurant, 5792 Coventry Lane, will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the regular menu and two dinner specials for $8.99. One includes turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. The other has ham, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. Each is served with a side dish and cranberry sauce. Slices of pumpkin or coconut-cream pie are $1. Children 10 and younger can get a Thanksgiving meal for $4.99.

•Waynedale Café, 5700 Bluffton Road, will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch features are roast turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes, vegetable and cranberry sauce ($8.49); Ossian ham with sweet potatoes, fruit and vegetable ($7.99); and rib-eye steak with potato and vegetable ($9.99). Each will be served with a cup of soup or salad and pumpkin pie.

•The Pointe, 3037 Goshen Road, is open 24 hours. The $11.95 Thanksgiving specials will be available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The specials are turkey or ham with mashed or sweet potatoes, green beans or corn, coffee or tea and pumpkin pie.

Specials on tap for Black Friday

Several restaurants will offer special discounts or hours to lure hungry shoppers Friday.

•Friends Too, 3720 W. Jefferson Blvd., will open at 4 a.m., two hours early. It will serve the regular menu and various specials until 9:30 p.m. For information, call 755-0894.

•La Margarita, 2713 Calhoun St., will have a “buy one, get one free” lunch special from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for dine-in customers only. The second lunch must be of equal or lesser value. This offer excludes fajitas. For information, call 456-5857.

•East State Coney, 2831 E. State Blvd., will offer Coney dogs for $1 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

•DeBrand Fine Chocolates, 10105 Auburn Park Drive, will offer public tours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $5, which includes a $5 rebate on a purchase of $10 or more. No reservations necessary.

Eddie Merlot’s serves lunch for holidays

Starting Monday, Eddie Merlot’s in Jefferson Pointe will add holiday lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.

The menu will feature soups, salads, appetizers, sides and burgers. Sandwiches include steak, a crab cake Po’ Boy, grilled chicken, salmon BLT and a Hot Brown Club. Prices range from $13 to $19.

Entrees are filet mignon, New Orleans mixed grill (filet, shrimp, andouille sausage), chicken Florentine, seared tuna, cedar-plank salmon and shrimp and scallop scampi. Prices range from $17 to $32.

The lunch hours run through Dec. 23.

Eddie Merlot’s will be open for dinner on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Powers Hamburgers adds hours

Due to customer demand, Powers Hamburgers, 1402 S. Harrison St., has expanded its hours.

The hours are now 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays to Wednesdays.

And from Thursdays to Saturdays, Powers will be open 24 hours, which means it opens at 5 a.m. Thursday and closes at 4 a.m. Sunday.
