Luers up

INDIANAPOLIS -- End of one quarter here at the 2A state championship game, and Bishop Luers leads Evansville Mater Dei 7-0.

The Knights scored on a 6-play, 70-yard drive highlighted by James Knapke's long pass to Channing Williams that set the Knights up at the Mater Dei 2-yard line. Jaylon Smith then scored on the next play.

Defensively, the Knights are shutting down the Mater Dei running game and getting heavy pressure off the edge on quarterback Dane Maurer.
