Ants open season No. 5 tonight

The Mad Ants begin their fifth NBA Development League season tonight at Memorial Coliseum with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against Sioux Falls.

The Ants begin this season much like last - with a lot of hope and without 6-foot-11 center Chris Hunter.

Last season, Hunter missed the early part of the season with a knee injury. This time he's out while still nursing a torn Achilles that he suffered last season. It's expected Hunter will return to the lineup a few weeks into this season, perhas in mid-December.

Meanwhile, here's the projected starting lineup for the Ants: Walker Russell Jr. at point guard; Cameron Jones, the Ants' first-round draft choice from Arizona, at a wing; veteran Ron Howard at shooting guard and returning forwards Darnell Lazare and Marvin Phillips Jr.

We'll check back at halftime.
