Indiana's season came to a close with a 33-25 loss to Purdue Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Stephen Houston rushed for 129 yards in the loss. IU finished the year 1-11. Here are the highlights.
Key play: Indiana's last chance at a comeback ended when Purdue's Josh Johnson was awarded an interception after tangling with Indiana wide receiver Nick Stoner for the ball late in the fourth quarter. Officials said the play wasn't reviewable.
Key number: Nine. The Hoosiers finished the season on a nine-game losing streak.
Season highs: Wide receiver Kofi Hughes emerged as a threat in the offense. Tre Roberson grew at the quarterback position.
Season low: The defense struggled throughout most of the year, particularly against the run. IU's improvements must start there.
"Bottom line is we've yet to play, with our crowd, really, really clean. Hard to play clean and consistent."
