Purdue leads at halftime

Purdue leads Indiana 23-17 at halftime Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Carson Wiggs kicked three field goals in the quarter for the Boilermakers.

Purdue settled for a 29-yard field goal by Wiggs to cut the Boilermakers' deficit to 14-10 with 13:01 left in the half. The Boilermakers missed out on a chance to score a touchdown two plays earlier when Caleb TerBush threw a pass over the head of a wide open O.J. Ross in the end zone.

Indiana's next drive ended with a field goal. IU had first-and-goal at Purdue's 8, but end up kicking a 32-yard field goal. Bruce Gaston sacked Tre Roberson for an 11-yard loss on third down to set up Mitch Ewald's kick.

Raheem Mostert returned the ensuing kickoff 81 yards to the Hoosiers' 8. Ralph Bolden scored on an 8-yard run on the next play.

Purdue grabbed its first lead of the game on a 43-yard field goal by Wiggs with 4:26 remaining in the half.

Wiggs made a 48-yard field goal with 5 seconds to go to extend Purdue's lead to 23-17.

As for statistics, TerBush has thrown for 104 yards and one touchdown. He is 9 of 17 passing. Running back Bolden has 54 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown.

Indiana's Stephen Houston has 72 rushing yards on five carries. He also has a touchdown. IU quarterback Roberson is 6 of 8 for 85 yards. He has also rushed eight times for 23 yards.
