Bear's cousin steps up

Scoring points must run in the Jones' bloodline. North Side sophomore Jeremy Jones scored 13 second-half points in a 68-49 win over Blackhawk Christian on Tuesday.

Jones, who made 5 of 10 shots, is the cousin of former North Side standout Eshaunte "Bear" Jones.

Eshaunte Jones, who scored 1,759 career points for the Redskins in 2004-07, is currently playing for Northern Kentucky.

Jeremy Jones even played a little on the junior varsity team, something that coach Shabaq Khaliq said after the game will help in his development.
