Don't be fooled by slow start

IPFW's women's basketball team has gotten off to a ragged start this season, losing four of its first six games. But don't be fooled by the record.

Senior center Stephanie Rosado, the preseason All-Summit League first team player, is still getting into shape after nursing a surgically-repaired knee throughout most of the summer.

Now sophomore forward Amanda Hyde is out indefinitely with a broken rib, an injury she sustained in the game at Michigan State.

The Mastodons, who play South Dakota at 5:30 p.m. Thursday as part of a women's-men's doubleheader at Memorial Coliseum, have gotten a surge from sophomore guard Erin Murphy.

Murphy, who saw limited minutes last season, is averaging 12.3 points per game, and has already had a career-high of 21.
