Purdue gains berth in Little Caesars Bowl

Purdue will face Western Michigan in the Little Caesars Bowl. The contest takes place at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 in Detroit.

Purdue went 6-6 in the regular season. This is the Boilermakers' first bowl appearance since 2007. Purdue beat Central Michigan 51-48 in what was then the Motor City Bowl in Detroit.

Western Michigan finished third in the Mid-American Conference's West division. The Broncos are 7-5 overall and went 5-3 in the MAC.

Quarterback Alex Carder has thrown for 3,251 yards and 28 touchdowns. His top target is Jordan White, who has 1,527 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.
