Te'o earns academic honor

Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o was named to the Capitol One Academic All-American second team. He is the 56th Irish player to be honored.

The junior is a design major and has a 3.37 GPA.

Te'o led Notre Dame in tackles (115), tackles for loss (13) and sacks (4½)

Players must be starters or key reserves, have at least a 3.30 GPA, be at least in sophomore standing and nominated by their sports information directors to be eligible for the academic team.
