Guard Corey Allmond took the high road when he said it will take more time for this particular group of players to get used to playing with one another. It was the right thing to say from the player who scored 32 points in the Ants' 94-91 overtime loss to Springfield on Friday at Memorial Coliseum.
But free throws are an individual thing, and the Mad Ants were miserable from 15 feet away, making 24 of 39.
Allmond and Marvin Phillips, who scored 24 points, were the primary holdovers from the Ants' roster that was minus four players who were in NBA training camps on Friday. But judging from what we saw Friday, Walker Russell Jr., Ron Howard, Darnell Lazare and Cam Jones don't have to worry about losing their starting spots.
