Some firsts for K's

The Komets lead the Dayton Gems 3-1 after one period at Memorial Coliseum.

And it's been a night of some firsts, so far.

Center Colin Chaulk scored on the first shot of the game. The assist went to Chris Auger, who had four goals and an assist in the 5-0 victory Saturday over the Evansville IceMen.

Forward Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock scored his first goal of the season -- can you believe that? -- on a shot from the left wing. Leo Thomas had a good screen on the play.

Seventeen seconds after Fort Wayne's Jamie Milam made it 3-0 with a power-play goal, Dayton's Ben Winnett scored. That was the first goal given up by the Komets' Nick Boucher in 94 minutes, 17 seconds of play.

The Komets look good ... so far.
