WEST LAFAYETTE - There would be no lost lead this time for Purdue; no losing to some mid-major in-state rival, as was the case last Saturday when they fell to unranked Butler.
Instead, Purdue (10-3) came out with a vengeance against IPFW (7-4), hitting 21 of their 30 shots in the first half and rolled to an 81-56 victory over the Mastodons on Tuesday at Mackey Arena.
The loss ended a five-game winning streak for IPFW, which was led by Joe Edwards' 11 points and 10 from Trey McCorkle.
Purdue had a balanced attack with six players in double figures. Ryne Smith had 12 points, D.J. Byrd and Anthony Johnson had 11 points apiece, while Robbie Hummel, Kelsey Barlow and Lewis Jackson had 10 points each.
