Sheehey, Elston suffer injuries

Indiana sophomore guard Will Sheehey suffered a left lower leg injury Wednesday at practice, the school announced in a news release late Wednesday.

His status will be “evaluated each day,” according to the news release. Sheehey has been a top option off the bench. He is averaging 10.7 points per game.

The Hoosiers will be without forward Derek Elston for Thursday's game with UMBC. The junior forward had surgery to repair a fracture in his nose, according to various media reports. Elston is averaging 5.9 points and 2.6 rebounds. =

Like Sheehey, he’s been one of the first options off of Indiana’s bench.
