I neglected to post this sooner, so my apologies on that.
The Komets who are on the CHL's ballot for the All-Star Game are forwards Brett Smith and Chris Auger, defenseman Jamie Milam and goaltender Nick Boucher.
There are two interesting omissions: Forward Bobby Chaumont, who is tied for seventh in the league with 31 points, including 10 goals, and defenseman Frankie DeAngelis, Fort Wayne's lone all-star last season.
However, the balloting is just for the starting lineup. The rest of the squad will be determined by the coaches.
This season's game, Jan. 11 in Prescott Valley, Ari., pits the CHL All-Stars against the Arizona Sundogs, who are (wait for it) 9-15-4.
To me, the Komets' all-stars should be: Smith, Chaumont, Milam, DeAngelis and Boucher.
The ballot was due Tuesday.
For the starting lineup, I voted for Smith, Milam, Boucher, Rapid City's Jesse Schultz, Dayton's Damian Surma and Wichita's Andrew Martens. Before you start calling me too much of a homer, I didn't want to vote Milam as a starter but Rapid City's Riley Weselowski wasn't on the ballot.
