The Mad Ants lost about 11 inches but gained a point guard for tonight's D-League game with Austin.
Starting guard Walker Russell Jr. will do exactly that - start - for the Ants tonight at the Coliseum. It will be his first appearance with the Ants since the 6-foot-1 veteran was recently released from the Detroit Pistons training camp.
To make room for Russell on the roster, the Ants cut 7-foot center Justin Neuhaus, who had averaged 3.1 points in seven games. He did not play in Thursday night's 100-96 loss to Sioux Falls.
Forward Darnell Lazare, released from the Indiana Pacers camp, is in the building and is expected to play for the Ants when they visit Erie on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Ants have not heard from 6-11 center Chris Hunter, who was recently released by the New York Knicks.
