Life in the SAC is never easy.
The top two seeds in the conference tournament both had battles on their hands at Wayne Tuesday before sliding through to the next round.
Top-seed Northrop held off No. 8 South Side 68-62, while No. 2 Bishop Luers rallied in the fourth quarter for a 77-68 win over No. 7 Bishop Dwenger.
The finalists from last year's tournament (with Northrop coming out on top) will play in Friday's semifinals.
"If you look at the scores the first two weeks of the conference, maybe one game has been 10 points and the rest have been under 10," Dwenger coach Matt Kostoff said of the competitive nature of the conference. "It will be balanced and every week is going to be tough."
