Indiana's 12-game winning streak came to an end as Keith Appling scored 25 points to lead Michigan State to an 80-65 victory Wednesday at Breslin Center.

Christian Watford scored 26 points for IU.

Key number(s): IU had an amazing run (25-2) to take a second-half lead. But it was the 20-0 run by the Spartans later in the half that proved to be the difference.

More notes: Verdell Jones III scored 11 points as he returned from an injury in the second half against UMBC. … The Hoosiers attempted just nine foul shots, making five. IU came into the game averaging 20.8 free-throws made per game. … Christian Watford became the 43rd Hoosier to score 1,000 career points. He came into the contest 21 points shy of the mark.
