Ants lose at Erie

Playing together for the first time this season, the five Mad Ants players who participated in NBA training camps this month started in a 109-94 loss at Erie on Wednesday.

It was the first game of the season for 6-foot-11 center Chris Hunter, who sat out much of last season after a torn Achilles tendon. Hunter, who scored 10 points, participated in the New York Knicks camp earlier this month.

Ron Howard, who was in the Milwaukee Bucks camp, led the Ants with 24 points, and Walker Russell Jr., who was in the Detroit camp, added 22.

The Ants, who have lost their last three games, will be home Friday for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against Los Angeles.
