Indiana did it again. For the second time this month, the Hoosiers knocked off a powerhouse. This time, it was Ohio State. Victor Oladipo scored the go-ahead basket with 36 seconds left and the No. 13 Hoosiers went on to beat the No. 2 Buckeyes 74-70. Here are the highlights:
Key play: Verdell Jones III was credited with the steal that set up Oladipo's fastbreak layup.
Key number: 17. As in the number of turnovers for Ohio State.
Keeping it close: The thrilling game featured 11 lead changes and 9 ties.
That's a fact: It is the first time Indiana has defeated the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country in the same season. The Hoosiers are just the ninth school since 1996-97 to accomplish the feat. IU defeated then No. 1 Kentucky on Dec. 10.
Local connection: Bishop Luers' standout Deshaun Thomas had five points and three rebounds for the Buckeyes. He battled foul trouble throughout the game, finishing with four fouls.
"It's a great accomplishment to beat No. 1 and No. 2, but we feel like there is more out there for us."
– Indiana forward Christian Watford
