Welcome to a very stuffed Memorial Coliseum -- there's a rumor about sprint car races or some such thing elsewhere in the building -- from Justin Cohn's stunt double, filling in on New Year's Eve so the guy can have at least one holiday off.
Anyway, a couple of items of note as we prepare to kick 2011 out of the house for keeps ....
* There was some fallout from the Komets' 4-3 win over Evansville last night, a rivalry that continues to become more contentious by the day.
Among the extracurriculars was a brutal cross-check on Kaleigh Schrock by Evansville's Steve Makway, which earned him a cross-checking minor, a cross-checking major and an attempt-to-injure game misconduct.
Today, the CHL also hit Makway with a one-game suspension.
* The Komets, now six points clear of Evansville in the Turner Conference, figure to pad that tonight against last-place Bloomington. The Komets have won both meetings in Fort Wayne so far this season, by a combined score of 7-4.
All for now.
