IPFW rode a 10-point halftime lead to a 72-67 victory over Summit League rival IUPUI on Thursday at Memorial Coliseum.
The Mastodons (9-6, 3-3 League) built a 37-27 lead at the half and never lost it in handing the Jaguars (8-9, 2-3) their first loss after six consecutive wins.
IPFW won despite losing 6-foot-10 center Trey McCorkle in the first half. McCorkle, driving to the basket to receive a pass, was fouled and landed beneath the basket. He did not return, but sat most of the second half on the IPFW bench.
Frank Gaines led IPFW with 22 points. Mario Hines had 14, and Justin Jordan had 10.
