IPFW leads IUPUI at half

Even without 6-foot-10 center Trey McCorkle, who was helped off the court with 7:36 remaining in the half, IPFW owns a 37-27 lead over IUPUI at Memorial Coliseum.

McCorkle was injured driving down the middle of the lane for a pass, but was fouled by IUPUI guard Jordan Shanklin.

Shooting the free throws for McCorkle, John Peckinpaugh made one to give IPFW a 21-19 lead.

After IUPUI tied the game at 21, IPFW went on a 12-1 run to take a 33-22 lead.

Frank Gaines leads IPFW with 10 points, while Mario Hines, who was inserted into the lineup to replace McCorkle, has eight.

Steve Warden blogs all things IPFW.
