Well, it's clear this game is going to rest on the shoulders -- and in the glove -- of Dayton goaltender Larry Sterling.
He has stopped 32 of 34 shots shots for Dayton, and it's tied at 2.
Sterling had stopped 31 of 32 shots late in the period, when he seemed to start mouthing off to Brett Smith. In Sterling's defense, Komets had been mouthing off to him all night.
Seconds later, on a power play, Colin Chaulk scored for a 2-1 Fort Wayne lead. Unfortunately for the Komets, Dayton answered 33 seconds later on a Kyle Bochek goal.
Nick Boucher has stopped 20 shots for the Komets.
By the way, no matter how you cut it, you have to love not only the Fort Wayne rivalry with Sterling, but also that he gets into it, too.
