The Komets avoided their first three-game losing streak of the season by defeating the Dayton Gems 4-2 tonight at Hara Arena.
The Turner Conference-leading Komets (21-9-1), who were playing the middle portion of three straight games in three straight days against the Gems, were led by Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock's two goals.
It was the first time this season Schrock tallied more than one point in a game.
Forwards Jesse Bennefield and Brett Smith also scored for Fort Wayne, which got 20 saves from goaltender Nick Boucher.
Dayton (12-14-6) got goals from Nick Fanto and Damien Surma.
Dayton goalie Larry Sterling, who stopped 45 of 47 shots in a 3-2 victory at Memorial Coliseum on Friday night, stopped 42 shots Saturday.
Sunday, at the Coliseum, newly acquired goalie Gerry Festa is expected to start for the Komets.
The Komets activated defenseman David Starenky from injured reserve, but put defenseman Dustin Molle (groin) on IR.
