At least he's got a good first name

I mean, c'mon, with a name like his, he can't be all bad.

So we're about ready to begin the Steve Gansey era at home as the Mad Ants play Canton tonight at Memorial Coliseum.

The 26-year-old Gansey takes over as the head coach, now that Joey Meyer was let go by the team late Thursday.

Gansey already has a game under his belt, as the Ants were beaten at Canton Friday night. But now he makes his Coliseum head coaching debut.

"I know all eyes will be on me," he said.

Gansey has the house microphone. He wants to thank everyone for their support. He said he's excited, and said that the team will play "extremely hard and extremely unselfish." He asked the arena to be the sixth man tonight.
