OK, I don't pretend to know what Allen coach Dwight Mullins' criteria for picking the All-Star Game captains were, but it sure seems that Fort Wayne's Brett Smith got the short end of the stick.
Mullins picked Laredo's Adam Rivet as the captain, and Evansville's Todd Robinson and Allen's Bruce Graham as the alternates.
Maybe it's because Smith isn't the captain of the Komets -- that's Colin Chaulk. But it seems to me that since Smith is representing the top team in the CHL and captained last season's champion Mudbugs that he would have been a logical choice.
To cheer you up, however, I give you this: The Fictionary. (It's in the PDF format at the top of this post.)
This was first brought to my attention by a reader -- thanks, Ashley -- and I got in touch with Terry Ficorelli, the Evansville broadcaster, to get the full copy. He said it first started in 1991 with the Cincinnati Cyclones.
My only question is: Where's Crankin' and Swankin'?
