Ants win, even without Howard

There are a couple reasons why the Mad Ants' win over Bakersfield in Reno on Monday night was impressive.

First of all, it was the first time that the Ants have ever won at the NBA D-League Showcase event. They had previously gone 0-for-8 in their first four years.

Secondly, the Ants did it without leading scorer Ron Howard.

Howard, who averages 21 points, sat out the game with a sprained wrist. His status is uncertain for Thursday's game against Tulsa.

The win was the second time the Ants have had back-to-back wins this season. The first occasion was early in the season, when the Ants won their first two games in late November and early December.
