Nick Boucher stopped 36 of 39 shots in 1 1/2 periods and Brett Smith had a goal, as the Komets' representatives fared well in a 6-4 victory by the CHL All-Stars over the host Arizona Sundogs in front of 4,479 fans at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Ariz., on Wednesday
Quad City's Brandon Marino scored the game-winning goal, breaking a 4-all tie at 16:01 of the third period. Marino, who also had three assists, was selected the MVP of the CHL team.
Kevin Petovello was MVP of the Sundogs with two goals.
The Sundogs have the second-worst record in the 14-team CHL at 10-17-6 but put up quite a fight, putting 75 shots on the all-stars' net.
Boucher's backup, Mark Guggenberger of Texas, stopped 35 of 36 shots.
Also scoring for the all-stars were Matt Robinson of Wichita, who had two goals, along with Bruce Graham of Allen and Jeff Terminesi of Tulsa, who had an empty-netter.
Arizona also got goals from Jesse Perrin and Samson Mahbod.
Sundogs goalie Scott Reid stopped 24 of 27 shots, while Mike Spillane stopped 18 of 20.
