CALABASAS, Calif. — Justin Bieber is wanted for questioning by Los Angeles County Sheriff's investigators after a photographer complained of being roughed up by the pop star at a shopping center.Sheriff's Lt.Oprah Winfrey says the first students to graduate from her academy for underprivileged South African girls are “free to soar.”
Winfrey spoke Saturday at a graduation ceremony that came five years after the first classes of 11- and 12-year-olds opened the school. Then, they were girls who had never used a computer before, had gone to primary schools that lacked enough desks and chairs for all the students, had been raised by grandmothers or older siblings after losing parents to AIDS, cancer or crime.
Saturday, they were young women headed to university to study medicine, law, engineering, economics.
New concert date
Keith Urban has rescheduled a benefit concert for April 10.
He had to postpone the third annual “All For The Hall” Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum fundraiser in Nashville on Jan. 18 because he’s still recovering from having a polyp removed from a vocal cord late last year.
Tickets go on sale Jan. 27. He’s raised about $1 million so far.
Singer apologizes
Kid Rock has apologized after a man complained that the musician smoked a cigar at a non-smoking venue in the Detroit area.
Randy Snell says Kid Rock lit the cigar while attending country singer Travis Tritt’s show Friday at Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren.
Spokesman Nick Stern told The Detroit News that Kid Rock offered his “most sincere apologies” to patrons he may have offended.
Fifty-eight-year-old Snell has asthma and says he plans to file a health department complaint.
