Loss not devastating for Norwell

Despite a 61-59 loss to Snider on Wednesday, the players for the Class 3A top-ranked Norwell girls basketball team exited the locker room in pretty good spirits.

The loss was a tough one for the Knights (15-2), but they are still in control of the NHC race and are maybe the team to beat in the 3A state tournament.

Norwell's two losses have come by a total of nine points to 4A No. 1 Penn (46-39) and 4A No. 9 Snider (61-59).

There's no guarantee the Knights will even drop from the top spot in 3A.

"Unfortunately we lost this game, but we got better from it," Norwell coach Eric Thornton said. "From what Penn and Snider can do, we are probably not going to face that in the 3A state tournament."
